Gap Up Stocks: Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK), Facebook Inc(NASDAQ:FB)
Is Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) hosting an event in the Big Apple in September? Surely looks like it!
According to WP Central, the website dedicated to Windows Phone, the Finnish phone maker is conducting an event on September 26 and 27, in New York. It is not know if the event is public press or internal. A screenshot of what looks like an online registration screen for the event has also been posted on the site.
Rumors of Nokia working on a Windows powered tablet have been around for some time now, and it is possible that the event is to launch the same.
An article on the site also says that the tablet has an 11-inch display and a design not unlike the Nokia Lumia phone with “bright colours and rounded corners”.
On Wednesday, the new Windows tablet was spotted in benchmark results. A device named RX-114 showed on graphics processor benchmarking website GFXBench.
According to the results, the Nokia RX-114 tablet would be powered by a quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU graphics processor and is likely to run Windows RT.
Hardware specs like RAM, internal storage, camera and battery are however not known as of now.
Last month too, there were reports about Nokia’s Windows RT tablet, which was apparently cancelled. Pictures of the tablet were leaked then as well.
Meanwhile, the price of Facebook Inc(NASDAQ:FB) shares crossed the initial public offering price of $38 for a shortwhile and closed at $36.80.
Chief Accounting Officer Jas Athwal has revealed that he sold a part of his Facebook stock holding, in a Form 4 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Athwal sold 25,375 class-A shares of Facebook common stock at $34.97 a share, and 125 shares at $35.65. He still holds 152,029 shares in the company.
Will more of Facebook’s top executives sell their shares? Wait and watch!
