Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) to launch a smartphone and tablet next month
There’s some news about Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) and this is something which will gladden the hearts of those who were looking for a follow-up to the Nokia PureView, which had the gorilla-sized 41 mega pixel camera on it.
According to a report by WPCentral, a similar camera phone is now close to launch as part of the Finnish handset maker’s Windows Phones line-up.
Called Nokia Lumia EOS, the smartphone is in the stage of being tested by AT&T and is expected to be released sometime in July.
The codename of the phone is Elvis and according to the report it will be 1 millimetre thinner than the Nokia Lumia 920, which was released last year.
The best thing about the phone will of course be the camera, which will have the 41 mega pixel resolution. Apart from that the phone is rumoured to have OLED display, which has a screen resolution of 768X1280 and 32GB of internal storage.
The Elvis smartphone will also be equipped with a polycarbonate body and will not be able to support a microSD card. The report says that the smartphone will have a Flip as a silencing feature.
There are also reports of Nokia working on a tablet PC, which is also being tested by network carrier AT&T. NokiaPowerUser.com said that the tablet is also being used in other markets though there are no details of which markets or even the operators who are testing it.
This tablet will come pre-installed with an exclusive app by Adidas. So far the other specifications for the tablet remain sketchy. The tablet is also expected to be launched along with Elvis sometime in July.
