Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Launches Low Cost Plan For BlackBerry Services
Canadian Smartphone company Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is now offering all services for just Rs 129 per GB of usage in in 15 low and mid revenue generating circles, including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, making an attempt for penetrate further in these regions.
According to Hitesh Shah, India Director for Commercial Relationship, the plans would be available on Idea, Aircel and Vodafone networks. But, in circles such Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra, the 129 plan only includes use of BlackBerry messenger services. The same services are just available for metros as well.
Shah said that the company is making an attempt to bring out affordable plans as consumers in 15 telecom circles excluding metros and top telecom circles would have access to BlackBerry services for just Rs 129 giving them freedom to use up to 1 GB of data.
BlackBerry would be offering BlackBerry Messenger, email, instant messaging, internet browsing as well as social networking to the users of 129 pack. This plan is available for users having Operating System 7 which has phones like Curve 9220, Curve 9320, Bold 9 and Bold 9990 from the BlackBerry stable.
Sunil Lalvani, BlackBerry India’s Director for Enterprise Sales, opined that corporate users can also deploy BES Express at no cost which ensures corporate email access even on employee phones.
Circles like Assam, Haryana, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh West and East and Madhya Pradesh are the states where the plan has been launched and would be available to customers shortly.
